Plant based medicine finds their origin almost with the origin of human race in this planet. In the prehistoric era mankind relied on plant based medicines for sure, but there are no documented evidence to support the facts. Mankind started to pass on the knowledge on medicinal plants after they learned the art of drawing or writing. India boasts of its 4 biodiversity hotspots out of the total 35 in the entire world and North-Eastern India is very much in the Hotspot region. India too has a long history of rich cultural heritage which is well documented and with that, too has a long list of medicinally important plants. Some of these plants have been explored scientifically against the claims of traditional practitioners, but the list of plants yet to be explored is a longer one. Among the explored plants, we have some which are partially explored and a lot of work is yet to be done. This study was intended to present the available information about two such partially explored plants, which still calls for attention of the scientific community.
